Who Can Drive Our Vehicles?
We accept drivers aged 21 to 75.
You must hold a full UK driving licence for at least one year.
Drivers must have no more than 6 points (SP, CU or TS codes only).
You can add extra drivers for £30 each.
What Documents Do I Need?
Photo card licence or old paper licence with passport
Two forms of ID (utility bill, bank statement, or official letter dated within the last 3 months)
Your Shared Licence Number (from gov.uk/view-driving-licence)
Alternatively, provide your National Insurance number so we can access your licence details
How Do I Book a Van?
Call our Bristol team on 0117 427 8926 to check availability.
Full payment is required upfront to secure your booking.
What Do I Pay on the Day?
A £250 security deposit by credit or debit card is required at collection.
This is refundable when the van is returned undamaged and as agreed.
Fuel & Mileage
Fuel is not included in your hire price.
You must return the van with the same fuel level as when collected. If not, a surcharge will apply.
Each 24-hour hire includes a 200-mile allowance, up to a maximum of 1000 miles per week.
Any extra mileage will be charged at 25p per mile (VAT included) upon return.
Taking the Vehicle Abroad?
Wilkinson Self Drive vehicles are for UK mainland use only.
We do not allow vans to be taken abroad.
Breakdown Cover
If you experience a breakdown, call us immediately on 0117 427 8926 for assistance.
Vehicle Collection & Returns
You will be given a specific collection time when you book.
If you're running late, please let us know; otherwise, your van may be hired out to someone else.
Late returns are charged at the full daily rate.
Early returns are accepted, but we do not issue refunds for unused days.
We do not accept collections or returns after 5pm unless arranged in advance.
If you arrive late, you will need to return or collect the van the following day, and an extra day will be charged.
If you fail to collect your reserved van, you will be charged the full hire cost.
Cancellations & Refunds
Please note our cancellation policy:
More than 7 days’ notice: 75% refund
2 to 7 days’ notice: 50% refund
Less than 48 hours’ notice: No refund
Additional Information
Comprehensive insurance is included in the hire price
VAT is included in all pricing
In the event of an accident or damage, the hirer is responsible for the first £1,500 of repair costs
An administration fee of £60 also applies in the event of a claim
